League thankful for hospitality

The local charter members of the Lorain-Medina District of the Ohio Girls Softball Organization would like to thank the youth athletic associations and municipalities of Oberlin, Wellington and LaGrange for their excellence in hosting the tournaments and championship games for LMOGSO over the past several years. All three provide outstanding service and venues at a very exciting time in the lives of many young softball players.

Wellington will once again host the district playoffs beginning July 5 where local charters will face off to decide who goes on to the state tournament which will be held in Champion of the Trumbull District this year. The state tournament will return to Lorain-Medina in 2013. LaGrange Keystone won their bid to host county championship games at their new ball fields on State Route 303 on July 14. Farm tournaments for girls eight years and younger will be hosted by Oberlin, the hometown of league founder Tom Johnson almost 40 years ago. Thanks again to all the volunteers in Lorain and Medina counties who make fast pitch softball available to any girl who wants to play, and best wishes for a successful and safe season to all the players.
