String quartet next to perform for recital series
The Takács String Quartet will return to Finney Chapel and Oberlin College's Artist Recital Series on Thursday, March 18, at 8 p.m.
The Takács String Quartet has garnered attention for their Beethoven interpretations. The Oberlin performance will feature Beethoven's sixth and seventh string quartets, which includes the "Razumovsky," for which the ensemble has won Grammy and Gramophone awards.
During a world tour with performances throughout Europe and North America, including London's Queen Elizabeth Hall and New York's Carnegie Hall, the quartet is highlighting the entire cycle of Beethoven's 18 string quartets.
The program will also introduce audiences to a new work by New Zealand-based composer John Psathas; "A Cool Wind" will receive its Carnegie Hall debut by the quartet in April.
Tickets are available through Oberlin College's Central Ticket Service (CTS).
