School Scene, March 9

by MICHELE ANDREWS

School volunteer

A weekend of events:

The OHS Drama Club production of "The Heidi Chronicles" will be presented Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. This show is not intended for young children. Tickets are available at the door.

The senior class of OHS will be serving a spaghetti dinner Friday and Saturday night before the play with the proceeds going toward their senior trip. Tickets are also available at the door.

Saturday, March 13 is the "social event" of the season. The Oberlin Athletic Boosters are hosting the second annual St. Patrick's dinner/auction fundraiser. Through the generosity of local merchants and community members we have a wonderful selection of live and silent auction items. There will be a dinner buffet and live music by Oberlin's own Soul Proprietors. Tickets are still available by calling 774-7056. The student athletes of Oberlin City Schools need and appreciate your support.

* Eastwood: Thursday, March 11 at 9 a.m., the monthly principal's coffee will be held at Eastwood. As always these are free and open to all interested parties. This is a great way to find out what is in store for the rest of the school year.

* Prospect: The Oberlin city school board will meet tonight at Prospect at 6 p.m. These meetings are open to the public.

* Langston: The American Association of University Women will sponsor the "Reach for the Stars" seventh grade girls career luncheon at JVS on Thursday, March 11.

Sporting Life: Spring track practice has begun. If your student plans to participate they must have a current physical.

* OHS: With a 5-0 record and first place standing in the PAC Scholastic Challenge the OHS Academic Challenge team will be at LCCC Stocker Center Thursday, March 11 for more PAC Scholastic Action. Matches begin at 4 p.m.

Sporting Life: Baseball, softball, tennis and spring track practices are all in full swing. As soon as weather permits practices will move outdoors. Current physicals are needed to participate.
