Great changes coming
With this edition, we say good-bye to Tuesday publication of the News-Tribune. Beginning next week, we will publish the paper on Thursdays.
By returning to Thursday publication -- previous ownership changed from Thursdays to Tuesdays in 1992 -- we will be able to provide more timely information on city council and school board meetings. We should also be able to provide better, more updated information about upcoming weekend events.
As journalists we strive to provide complete, accurate information to our readers. This move will allow us to do that even better in the future.
The move also opens up for us the opportunity to introduce a new newspaper, the ADvocate, which will be delivered free to every household in Oberlin, Wellington, Kipton and Sullivan. The ADvocate will replace the Shopping News, which had been delivered for decades to non-subscribers in some rural routes around Oberlin and Wellington.
The ADvocate will include local news contents and calendar events as space allows. It will not be simply a collection of advertisements that too often is thrown into the trash on the way in from the mailbox.
The ADvocate and the revised publication date will provide more value to subscribers and non-subscribers alike. This will also provide greater value to our advertisers, with deeper and broader circulation of our papers.
We trust you, our readers, will find these changes as exciting as we do.
