Phoenix tennis team is 9-0 in county
With a win over Amherst this past week, the Oberlin tennis team has finished 9-0 against county competition.
Coach Ed Miller praised his troops, "The team had really come a long way this year - the younger players have developed well and it's exciting to see the growth and improvement in play during the couse of the season."
Match last week: Beat Amherst, 3-2. Wins were all at the 3 singles positions: Melvin Medina, Lara Meig, Dima Bosch. Amherst won both doubles matches.
The final home match of the season is today against Lorain Southview, Tuesday, May 11 at 4:15 p.m. at the Oberlin College courts. It is Senior/Parent Day - Seniors Griffin Sabelli, Tommy Cowling, Erin Fuhr, and Dylan Nelson will be recognized prior to the match.
The Phoenix start on the tournament trail beginning with sectional play on Thursday and Friday this week. Playing singles for Oberlin will be Melvin Medina, Lara Meig, and Dima Bosch. Teaming up for doubles play are Zach Walsh/David Miller and Erickson Andrews/Griffin Sabelli.
