Nichole Springer was killed at 2:53 a.m. Thursday on Oberlin Road in New Russia Township after being thrown from her vehicle by the force of a crash.
The 34-year-old Oberlin resident was heading south on Oberlin Road just past Russia Road in a 2002 Jeep Cherokee.
That’s when the car went off the side of the road, striking a culvert, a tree, and overturning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Oberlin firefighters, emergency medical technicians from the South Central Ambulance District, and coroner’s office personnel were at the scene.
Springer was pronounced dead on the scene and was not wearing a seatbelt.
Coroner Stephen Evans said Springer suffered multiple blunt force injuries.
Alcohol use is suspected, said state troopers.
The coroner’s office is expected to receive results from an alcohol and drug test in two to three weeks.
