Multiple fundraisers are being held this month to help the Oberlin High School marching band fund a performance trip to Florida.

The band is scheduled to go to the Sunshine State April 6 to play in a parade at Disney World and attend performance workshops.

The trip cost each member roughly $835. The band is trying to send 50 members.

Each instrumentalist is participating in a citrus sale through Nov. 27, selling Indian River Fruit from Fort Pierce, Fla.

The fruit is picked fresh from the trees and ranges from $20 to $50 depending on the size of the box. Orders are expected to be delivered by mid-December.

Band members will also assist customers at Oberlin IGA Wednesday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

They will pack groceries and help customers load food into their vehicles. Marching band members will accept tips and donations to help fund the Florida trip.

Anyone interested in buying a fruit basket can contact a band member or the high school band office at 440-776-4528.
