Ninety-six men, women, and children from the First Church in Oberlin United Church of Christ participated in a Day of Service on April 17.

The usual Sunday worship service was replaced with an opportunity to put faith into action through work projects. Teams selected community projects and headed out to demonstrate their faith and see where God could be found in the world.

Teams went to the Habitat ReStore in Amherst, Oberlin Community Services, Zion CDC energy-sustainable house, the Family Promise House, as well as going door-to-door sharing information about Providing Oberlin with Efficiency Responsibly.

Some folks stayed at First Church, while others went to Kendal at Oberlin to make fleece blankets and assemble health kits for Family Promise.

One team remained at the church to prepare lunch and everyone shared in a final service of worship and song.
