POLICE REPORTS


• Aug. 5 at 11:20 p.m.: Hassain Sims, 43, of Oberlin, was charged with assault. A report said he was involved in a fight at Agave on West College Street. Police said the fight stemmed from a long dispute; when the other party approached and offered to shake hands, Sims allegedly struck and tried to choke him.

• Aug. 6 at 1:47 a.m.: A Locust Street home was egged. A car with four females — three juveniles and an 18-year-old — was stopped and egg cartons were found inside. The occupants admitted to the egging.

• Aug. 6 at 4:28 p.m.: Jack Hawkins, 39, of Oberlin, was arrested on a contempt of court warrant through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.

• Aug. 6 at 10:25 p.m.: A woman called police saying her granddaughter was not home and she wanted her in a juvenile detention home. When police arrived, they found the woman in her driveway screaming and holding a wooden club with a nail sticking out. She told police her granddaughter was no longer welcome at her home. The granddaughter said her grandmother had been drinking and she did not feel safe at the house.

• Aug. 7 at 12:21 a.m.: Police stopped two juveniles walking on the former Green Acres lot. One allegedly lied about his age.

• Aug. 9 at 12:38 a.m.: Two teenagers were chased off the playground at Eastwood Elementary School. They left behind a backpack with beer, a kitchen knife, and a pipe with suspected marijuana.

• Aug. 9 at 2:45 p.m.: Three juveniles were accused of shoplifting at Mickey Mart on South Main Street.

• Aug. 9 at 8:27 p.m.: Timothy Henderson, 57, of Oberlin, was arrested on a warrant through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office for contempt of court (dangerous drugs). He was also charged with possession of heroin.

• Aug. 11 at 10:57 a.m.: Christopher Moon, 33, of Oberlin, was served with a bench warrant through the Oberlin Municipal Court.

• Aug. 11 at 10:30 p.m.: Michael Wallace, 42, of Elyria, was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. Marvin Moon, 45, of Elyria, was charged with possession of cocaine. Wallace was also wanted on a warrant for assault through the Elyria police department. The pair may also have been involved in a burglary, a report said.
