A truck carrying pallets of steel overturned about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of US 20 and State Rt. 511 . Witness Roger Sasack said he was riding his bicycle east on US 20 when he saw the westbound box truck turn south onto Rt. 511 by Green Circle Growers. Sasack said the truck was driving slowly but still tipped over onto the passenger side. “As soon as he started to turn, I was like, ‘Oh, crap, that’s going over,’” Cosack said.
Cosack said he climbed on top of the cab of the truck and opened the door for the driver, Jonathan Dozier, and helped him get out. Dozier, who said he was headed to New London, said the steel in the truck was secured and he was unsure what caused the truck to tip over. Trooper Joe Glascox of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Elyria post said a decision hadn’t been made on whether Dozier would be charged over the crash.
