POLICE REPORTS


• March 10 at 10:38 p.m.: A wood pipe containing suspected marijuana residue was turned over to police by Oberlin College security.

• March 13 at 6:25 a.m.: A Groveland Street woman said she was awoken by a flashlight and saw a tall person standing in her bedroom doorway. Upon realizing she was awake, the intruder ran out a back door.

• March 13 at 8 a.m.: Police responded to Lorain County Academy for an unruly student who allegedly tried to start a fight.

• March 13 at 1:54 p.m.: A GC Club Car valued at $9,217 was reported stolen from Oberlin College.

• March 13 at 9:53 p.m.: A baggie of suspected marijuana and a digital scale were turned over to police by Oberlin College security.

• March 15 at 9:23 p.m.: Ricky Perry, 57, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, refusal to submit to BAC testing, driving without a valid license, and weaving.

• March 16 at 1 p.m.: Jani Sword, 40, was arrested on a warrant through Oberlin Municipal Court for failure to appear.

• March 16 at 1:45 p.m.: Two metal grinders containing suspected marijuana were turned over to police by Oberlin College security.

• March 16 at 5:07 p.m.: A bong made out of a Hennessy bottle and five small suspected joints with a small ashtray were turned over to police by Oberlin College security.

• March 16 at 6:47 p.m.: An Oberlin College student reported he saw a male photographing or videotaping him in the shower at Phillips Gym. He told officers the suspect had been videotaping through a crack in a bathroom stall. The suspect was described as a heavy-set black man who may have had glasses. Others said they had noticed this person hanging around the locker room and shower area as well.

• March 17 at 12:01 a.m.: A pipe with suspected marijuana residue was turned over to police by Oberlin College security.

• March 17 at 3:07 p.m.: A grinder with suspected marijuana was turned over to police by Oberlin College security.

• March 17 at 5:23 p.m.: Clothes with $825 in the pocket were reported stolen from a locker at Phillips Gym.

• March 17 at 9:53 p.m.: Mark Harssema, 42, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and BAC over .170.

• March 18 at 7:27 p.m.: A North Main Street woman said her daughter’s car was defaced with paint. Both said they had seen “large, pointed, male” footprints in the snow.

Editor’s note: Though charged, defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
