An 84-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital Friday after apparently striking a utility pole during a turn at routes 58 and 303. “She was alert and conscious when talking to the first people on the scene. It appears that she didn’t quite make the turn and got off the road,” said Wellington fire chief Mike Wetherbee. The woman was taken to Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin for treatment.
