The Lorain County JVS is offering a free, summer career exploration camp for students entering the ninth and 10th grades from Amherst, Avon, Avon Lake, Clearview, Columbia, Elyria, Firelands, Keystone, Midview, North Ridgeville, Oberlin, Sheffield-Sheffield Lake, and Wellington.
The ExCEL Summer Career Camp will be held the mornings of Tuesday, June 14 through Thursday, June 16.
It is designed to give students the opportunity to learn about career options by getting hands-on experience in a variety of program areas offered at the JVS.
Bus transportation between the JVS and associate school districts’ middle and junior high schools. A nutritious lunch will also be served each day.
Students must register for ExCEL Summer Career Camp with their school counselors, who have applications available, or online at http://bit.ly/JVS_EventRegistration. All applications must be filled out and turned in to a student’s school counselor by the end of May at which time they will be collectively forwarded to the JVS.
Students, families, and associate school members are invited to a kick-off event at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 with a presentation by motivational speaker Harvey Alston. Students will choose their summer career camp lab options at the kick-off event; RSVP at http://bit.ly/JVS_EventRegistration.
