Steven Thompson has stepped out of the Oberlin board of education race, the second candidate to do during the campaign.
Lorain County elections workers confirmed he withdrew his name from consideration Oct. 10, though at this late stage Thompson’s name will still appear on the ballot.
Signs near voting booths will remind voters of his pullout.
Candidate Laura Jones also withdrew from the school board race.
That leaves six candidates competing for three open seats, which carry four-year terms: Albert Borroni, Isabella Moreno, Sandra Redd, Anne Schaum, Jason Williams, and Kenneth Yancey.
