FAVA spring classes are underway
The Firelands Association for the Visual Arts (FAVA) spring semester of art classes is scheduled to begin in the coming week, with offerings for students ages 3 to adult in a wide variety of media.

The spring education program kicked off on Saturday, Jan. 31, with a free workshop for adults and teens (ages 16 and older) entitled "Reclaim Your Creativity with Found Object Assemblage," led by local artist Rich Thomson. The program continues with free LEGO and block building workshops for kids on Saturdays, Feb. 6 and 13, from 10 a.m. to noon, led by local artist Elizabeth Meadows.

For Kids:
* From Monet to Cassat: The 19th Century Impressionists, with Kathleen Digney. Mondays, Feb. 8 to March 8 (five class meetings), 5:30-7 p.m. $70/$60 for FAVA members.
* Preschool Art, with Rachel Mangan. Fridays, Feb. 5 to April 23 (12 class meetings), 11 a.m. to noon, or 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. $120/$110 for FAVA members.
* Art After School I (Grades K-2), with Donna Coleman. Fridays, Feb. 5 - April 30 (12 class meetings), 4:45-5:45pm. $120/$110 for FAVA members.
* Art After School II (Grades 3-5), with Donna Coleman. Thursdays, Feb. 4 to April 29 (12 class meetings), 4:45-6 p.m. $120/$110 for FAVA members.
For Teens:
* Art After School III (Ages 13-18), with Elizabeth Meadows. Tuesdays, Feb. 2 to April 20 (12 class meetings), 4:30-6 p.m. $120/$110 for FAVA members.
For Adults
* Intro to Drawing, with Kathleen Digney. Wednesdays, Feb. 3 to March 3 (five class meetings), 6-8 p.m. $80/$70 for FAVA members.
* The Handwriting Clinic Workshop, with Andrius Balukas. Wednesdays, Feb. 3-24 (four class meetings), 7-8:30 p.m. $60/$50 for FAVA members.
