SCA are models to follow

Bravo Oberlin News-Tribune.

Your Jan. 12 lead editorial was superbly written. How anyone can do otherwise than celebrate the imminent completion of the East College Street Project is baffling to us.

As you so correctly pointed out, they introduced to the rest of us what sustainability is all about. Their handsome project not only boldly shows us that mixed income housing with retail can work, but will be the first major change made in the central business district in a very long time. Along with the equally bold plans Oberlin College has for the district, Oberlin surely will become a better place in which to live, and also an attractive place to visit.

Finally, the energy, tenacity, and dedication to a mission by Ben, Naomi, and Josh is a model that we all could hope to emulate. We thank those three for staying in Oberlin.
