9 a.m., Nov. 11: A subject came to the police department to report a complaint of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, dating from 1997 to 2000. The matter is under investigation.
5:38 p.m., Nov. 14: An officer on patrol saw Timmy Garn, 42, of Oberlin, sitting on the sidewalk with a bike across his legs. He was taken into custody for his safety and due to his highly intoxicated state. At the police station, Garn submitted to a breath test, which measured his blood alcohol content at 0.336 percent, more than four times the legal limit for intoxication. He was cited for disorderly conduct by intoxication.
7:16 p.m., Nov. 19: A Reserve Avenue resident reported a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood. While en route, the responding officer was notified a package was left by the vehicle. The officer took possession of a purple Crown Royal bag containing a sheet of notebook paper wrapped around marijuana. The matter is under investigation.
1:30 p.m., Nov. 20: An officer responded to the 900 block of Kimberly Circle for a complaint of theft from the elderly.
2:15 p.m., Nov. 20: Officers responded to Oberlin Municipal Court to serve two bench warrants against Kyle Bromley, 22, of Oberlin. The warrants were for contempt on original charges through the Oberlin and Amherst police departments. Bromley was served with the Oberlin complaint, then held for the Amherst police to serve their complaint before he was transported to the Lorain County jail in lieu of $5,000 bond on each charge.
3:50 p.m., Nov. 22: As the result of a traffic stop, passenger Nicholas Ventura was arrested on a warrant through the Sheffield police department for contempt on an original charge of driving under suspension, with a warning of armed and dangerous for a previous armed robbery conviction. He was later transferred to Sheffield police custody. The driver, Jose Casarez, 44, of Lorain, was arrested on a warrant through the Ohio State Highway Patrol for contempt on an original charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was transferred to highway patrol custody at the location of the traffic stop.
7:32 p.m., Nov. 22: A complainant reported her son had been assaulted at Oberlin High School. The matter was referred to juvenile officer Lt. Kevin Scalli.
6:34 p.m., Nov. 27: Damage was found on a parked police cruiser.
7:48 p.m., Nov. 28: An office took a report of an animal killed or injured by someone discharging a firearm in city limits. The matter is under investigation.
10:44 p.m., Nov. 28: McDonalds reported a theft.
3:11 a.m., Nov. 29: As the result of a traffic stop, Courtney Baker, 23, of Elyria, was arrested on a warrant through the Elyria police department for contempt on an original charge of wrongful entrustment. She was transferred to Elyria police custody.
3:02 p.m., Nov. 29: A burglary was reported in the 200 block of South Park Street.
4:30 a.m., Nov. 30: Officers responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of East Lorain Street caused by an unwanted guest. The caller just wanted Christopher Simmons, 24, of Huron, to leave. He complied, but at 5:16 a.m. the caller complained Simmons had returned. Officers returned and arrested Simmons on charges of disorderly conduct by intoxication and obstructing official business. He was transported to the Lorain County jail in lieu of $1,025 cash bond.
10:09 a.m., Nov. 30: Criminal damage was reported from South Professor Street.
11:30 a.m., Nov. 30: A South Main Street business reported a theft.
4:54 p.m., Nov. 30: An officer responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 300 block of West Lorain Street.
8:01 p.m., Nov. 30: A resident complained of a broken window at her residence in the 500 block of West College Street.
11:40 p.m., Nov. 30: A woman reported her daughter had not come home. The juvenile returned home Dec. 1.
9:52 a.m., Dec. 1: Wal-Mart reported a shoplifter. Jeremy Clark, 20, of Grafton, was arrested for theft and released on personal recognizance.
10:30 a.m., Dec. 1: A downtown business owner reported graffiti on his building.
