NOYO on Warner Hall stage Jan. 24
The Northern Ohio Youth Orchestras (NOYO) will stage the second concert of their 41st season. The concert will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, in Warner Concert Hall, 77 W. Professor St. The orchestras are under the direction of Joanne Erwin and James Kalyn.
The Symphonetta orchestra, the younger of the two orchestras, will feature the works of Dvoák, Moussorgsky and Anderson. The Philharmonia orchestra will be performing an entire symphony -- Bizet's Symphony in C.
The orchestras rehearse every Sunday from September through April at the Conservatory. In addition to presenting three concerts during the season, students also have the opportunity to tour to other cities, participate in a fall retreat, in master classes, and in a summer chamber music camp. Scholarship funds are available for all programs.
Young musicians ages 8 to 18 who are interested in joining should contact the NOYO office at 775-3059.
