To the editor:
The Oberlin Public Library is an excellent resource to the Oberlin community. There is a wide selection of books, CDs, DVDs, and numerous audio books, but more importantly there are librarians and staff. They are delightfully friendly and adept at helping patrons find requested items but also eager to assist with the use of computers, e-books and tablets.
The Oberlin Public Library is a community meeting place for the genealogy group, writers’ group, book discussion groups, as well as many special events for children. It provides space for organizations in the community to hold informational meetings for anyone interested and for the library Friends to hold two biannual book sales.
I’m voting for the renewal of the 3.25-mill operating levy to support these important resources – Oberlin Public Library and The Bridge- that provide so much to our community. I encourage everyone to do so.
