To the editor:
We would like to thank the board of education for listening to the concerns of the community regarding the PK-12 building levy proposal. We recognize and appreciate the time, thought, and energy that these complex decisions require. We also thank those who signed the petition and acknowledge their thoughtful participation in the process.
On June 14, board president Ken Stanley state that “as a result of much public feedback, the board does not expect to complete the necessary steps to place any initiative on the ballot in 2016.”
We support this decision and look forward to the board’s exploration of a variety of innovative and cost-effective ideas that address the concerns expressed by the community.
