The Lady Phoenix earned their first win of the season this past weekend against Lake Ridge Academy.

The girls disrupted Lions passes and, with two assist from Rhiannon McKee, Oberlin racked up a 3-1 win. Alyssa Hicks-Watson, Lauren Garcia, and Hallie Kenney scored for the Phoenix.

Lake Ridge was able to slip one shot past Oberlin keeper Kenzie Tallman but she blocked the rest of the Lion’s shots to give her team the win.

The Lady Phoenix improved to 1-4 on the season.

Clearview’s Janeil Hawthrone had four goals to seal a 5-2 Patriot Athletic Conference victory last Thursday over Oberlin.

Garcia was the only Lady Phoenix player to score against the Clippers.

The girls will host the Lorain Titans at 5 p.m. Thursday.
