Phoenix runners finished 19th at the Bruce Lerch Invitational this past Saturday at Brecksville-Broadview Heights.

Senior Noah Frantz raced Brush’s Joshua Pope and Cleveland Heights’ David Mckenzie to the finish line to take 88th place.

David Carter came in right behind Frantz with a time of 21:06, beating Firelands’ Zach Baldwin by a bare 40 milliseconds.

Sophomore Jeremy Burnside beat Normandy’s Zach Kanicki to the finish line by two seconds and Cannon Byron-dixon finished nearly a minute and half behind Burnside.

The Phoenix scored 524 points to defeat Warrensville Heights, Valley Forge, and Cleveland Central Catholic.

Oberlin will travel to Black River to race at 9 a.m. Sept. 26 in the JB Firestone Invitational.
