This past week the Phoenix Wrestlers dropped two decisions to the Star crossover opponents, Wellington and Keystone.

The nearly full-strength Dukes easily handed the short staffed Phoenix a 57-12 loss. The 12 points were the result of forfeits received by Reggie Bouchonville (120 pounds) and Sam Wilson (182).

Robert Bouchonville (126) and Brenden Ortiz (145) lost their matches by pin, while Kobe Fields lost 8-6 on a late period takedown.

The second match of the evening against the Wildcats had a similar final score 48-18, but the individual matches were more competitive. Reggie Bouchonville started off the meet with a first period pin in 1:06.

Robert Bouchonville wrestled back from a 11-2 deficit to have his opponent on his back as time ran out. He lost a 11-7 decision.

Losing 8-3, Ortiz also wrestled back and closed the gap to 8-7 in the third period before his opponent earned an escape and a takedown for a 11-7 decision.

Fields rebounded from his first match with a first period pin in 1:40. He scored two takedowns prior to the pin.

Wilson received his second forfeit of the evening.

Morality Anderson (285) was resting his injured knee and took the week off from competition.

Next on the schedule is a double dual with Fairview and Lutheran West starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21.
