The Clearview Clippers spoiled the Lady Phoenix Senior Night game Wednesday with a 44-31 victory.
Senior Anna Cameron and team manager senior Serenity Crowley were recognized before the Patriot Athletic Conference contest.
Clearview held a steady 9-0 lead after the first period. The Lady Phoenix found their rhythm before halftime, scoring 16 points to the Clippers’ nine, cutting their opponents’ lead to 18-16.
Oberlin was led by junior Aszure Chamberlin, who had 10 points on the night.
The girls struggled to stop the Clippers offense in the second half as Clearview secured a 35-26 lead going into the final period. The Phoenix were held to five points in the fourth quarter, taking a conference loss.
Oberlin’s girls basketball team earned the number 12 seed in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III district tournament and will face the Columbia Raiders at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at Columbia.
