A rash of daylight residential burglaries is under investigation in New Russia and other nearby communities.
Lorain County sheriff’s deputies say the thefts have also impacted Carlisle and Grafton townships.
The most recent came Oct. 28, when a woman confronted two suspects who forced their way into the rear of her Carlisle Township home.
“The suspects are first knocking on the front door to see if the homeowner is home, then forcing entry into the residence when no one answers the door,” said Det. Jason Smith wrote in a release Tuesday.
The first suspect is a white man with a thin build, strawberry blond hair, a short-groomed beard, and who has been seen wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt.
The second is a white man with a thin build, shaggy brown hair, acne, and acne scars on his face.
The suspects drive a newer model Chevrolet car, metallic blue in color, with a spoiler on the trunk. The vehicle is believed to be either a Cobalt or Cruz, Smith said.
