Rebaeca Ley, a 16-year-old Oberlin High School sophomore, organized a drive to provide shoes for needy people in developing countries. About 150 pairs of shoes were donated the first week of March. The shoes will be shipped overseas by Angel Bins, a a Los Angeles-based, for-profit company that helps schools run donation and fundraising drives. The drive was part of a class project. “I have a lot of shoes, but not everyone is fortunate enough to have shoes,” Ley said.
