A driver was shaken up but not seriously injured in a crash about 5:25 p.m. Thursday outside The Hotel at Oberlin. While fire and police reports were unavailable, witness Laura Jones said the driver was northbound in a Jeep Liberty on North Main Street at the East College Street intersection before crashing. She said the driver veered right, hopped a curb, struck a pole, and traveled about 30 yards onto the front grounds of the hotel, narrowly missing striking the building. Police said the crash was caused by the driver going into diabetic shock. At about 5:35 p.m., the sobbing woman was helped by firefighters from the Jeep and walked to an ambulance.
