POLICE REPORTS


• June 16 at 3:54 p.m.: A woman said money, shoes, pills, clothes, and an electronic device were stolen from her car.

• June 16 at 6:45 p.m.: Faith Williams, Daijah Swingler, and Namon Oliver Jr., all 19 and of Elyria, were charged with theft. They are accused of stealing merchandise from Wal-Mart.

• June 17 at 3:41 p.m.: A bicycle was reported stolen from outside the Oberlin Public Library. The next day it was found in the possession of a juvenile at the Morgan Street reservoir, who also had marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to police.

• June 18 at 4:36 p.m.: A juvenile was taken into custody after a shoplifting complaint at Gibson’s on East College Street.

• June 19 at 11:55 p.m.: Rachel Teel, 39, of Grafton, was arrested on a warrant through the Grafton police for contempt of court on an original charge of receiving stolen property.

• June 19 at 2:05 p.m.: Abdul Earl, 39, of Lorain, was charged with driving without a license and trafficking in drugs. A police report said his license was suspended due to 14 open suspensions including a child support suspension. Suspected cocaine and crack cocaine were found in his car. Officers said Earl was walking strangely, as though he were clenching something between his butt cheeks — a strip-down revealed several items secreted under his genitals, including a digital scale, bag of marijuana, 10 grams of cocaine, and four grams of crack cocaine.

• June 21 at 1:17 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress on West College Street.

• June 22 at 12:51 a.m.: Scott Thorp, 58, of LaGrange, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash.

• June 22 at 9:36 a.m.: A woman said an ex-boyfriend has been harassing her through phone calls and text messages.

• June 24 at 4:29 p.m.: A 10-year-old was bitten by a dog on North Professor St.

• June 25 at 12:37 a.m.: A 16-year-old girl was accused of unruliness during a probation period.

• June 26 at 1:21 a.m.: A woman reported her purse stolen from her vehicle while at work.

• June 26 at 9:50 a.m.: A vehicle window was smashed with a rock on East College Street.
