Girl Scout Troop 50250 lent helping hands Saturday at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Oberlin. They made posters to lead the walk around Tappan Square while sporting new “I Can Change the World” T-shirts. Given a choice between the event’s one- or three-mile walk, the girls chose the longer route. Based out of LaGrange, the troop is comprised of 15 girls from LaGrange, Wellington, Elyria, Amherst, South Amherst, and Olmsted Falls. It meets the first Tuesday of each month and also takes part in a monthly giveback activity or field trip. The girls will gather from 6-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, OCt. 13 for its 3rd Annual Food Drive with Oberlin Community Services and Country Skateland. Take a canned good or nonperishable item and skate for free (skate rental is not included).
