Firelands High School has been named a Cleveland Clinic Banner School. Art teacher Laura Tawil implemented the Cleveland Clinic eXpressions program at FHS; it is aimed at advancing student learning in the creative exploration of science and medicine. Her student, Sara Drury, received Best in Show at the Cleveland Clinic eXpressions Art Competition this year. “We are very proud of our Cleveland Clinic Banner Award, as our students and staff work very hard at making FHS a well-balanced school between academics, the arts, and athletics,” said principal Robert Maver. “I believe these three areas make FHS one of the top schools in Northeast Ohio.”
