A three-year-old girl was found unresponsive Tuesday in a Henrietta Township pond and died despite the best efforts of rescuers.
Zandra Gut had been missing for an unknown length of time before she was found by her mother in the pond at 13574 Gore Orphanage Rd.
The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office and Central Lorain County Ambulance District were called there at 11:47 a.m.
The mother had tried CPR to no avail. Paramedics tried to revive Gut at the scene, then rushed her to Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin, where the little girl was pronounced dead.
An investigation will be conducted by the sheriff’s and coroner’s offices.
