To the editor:
As business agent for Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 42, I have had the pleasure of working with Sharon Pearson on several issues that are important to Oberlin and its residents.
Sharon has played a vital role in pushing for change in the city of Oberlin. I have worked with Sharon as part of the Oberlin Community Benefits Coalition for the last few years and she has been part of the push for economic sustainability by advocating for the use of Community Benefit Agreements which will push for Oberlin residents to be working on construction projects within the city. As the city’s prevailing wage coordinator, Sharon successfully watched for misuse of taxpayer funds by enforcing proper wage payment to workers on construction projects with government funding. As a member of council I know Sharon will continue to advocate for improvements in the local economy, sustainable/renewable energy, and social justice.
I endorse Sharon Pearson for Oberlin city council.
