Norenberg’s performance fell short

To the editor:

As of late, Oberlin city manager Eric Norenberg has received many praises from esteemed members of the community and his co-workers. I’m sure he is deserving of all of them.

I’m a nobody, only a citizen of Oberlin for 34 years. Mr. Norenberg spent eight years here. I presented a problem to him in May of 2008, which after much conflict wasn’t addressed until November of 2015. To me and others, this wasn’t acceptable, nor is the solution.

A city is not comprised only of community service and awards given for achievements that bolster a resume. Mr. Norenberg failed myself and others with his lack of concern and questionable resolution to this problem. I wish him the best in his new endeavor.
