Sharrow fixes now are unwise

To the editor:

What a waste of money! It was bad enough to spend money painting totally unnecessary and useless sharrows on the streets, but today I saw the ones on South Professor Street being repaired just in time for snowplow season to ruin them again.

If the city felt it had to spend the money to make them whole again, couldn’t someone have thought that it would better to do this in the spring when more bicyclists would be on the streets? I can’t help but think that the money spent today would have been put to better use by being given to the Oberlin Community Services Center. Our tax dollars are being used unwisely.
