Rimbert and council did the right thing

To the editor:

Thank you for your excellent coverage (posted online June 7) of the resolution passed by city council, rebuking President Donald Trump for withdrawing the United States from the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.

I fully support the council’s action, and applaud council president Ronnie Rimbert for signing on to the public statement “We Are Still In” (www.wearestillin.com) on behalf of the city of Oberlin. Thank you, Mr. Rimbert.

This is a good opportunity to encourage all readers to support the revenue-neutral carbon fee and dividend proposal brought by the Citizens Climate Lobby, as explained in your June 6 article on John Sabin’s participation in the CCL advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C.

Encourage our Ohio senators and congressional representatives to support the bipartisan legislation which enacts the CCL proposal, so we can move together to solve the climate problem.
