Portman should vote no

To the editor:

While we very much appreciate Sen. Rob Portman’s commitment to the opioid crisis, the needs of his Ohio constituents do not stop there.

For example, Medicaid covers far more than drug addiction treatment. “Medicaid to Schools,” for example, covers special education and health related services to children, which includes services such as speech and physical therapy, asthma and diabetes treatments, and hearing and vision screenings. Oberlin City Schools stands to lose up to $27,000 in Medicaid reimbursement if the GOP healthcare bill passes.

Sen. Portman needs to vote no on this cruel and vicious bill and continue to look out for Ohioans.
