The Lady Phoenix fell 5-2 last Wednesday to the Independence Blue Devils.

Oberlin’s defense was unable to fight off Independence as they continously broke through the back line and took shots on goalkeeper Kenzie Tallman.

Junior Maya Peters woke up the Phoenix offense after making a penalty kick. Alyssa Hicks-Watson added another goal for the team but the girls could not stop the Blue Devils offense.

Oberlin dropped to 3-0 overall on the season.

The Lady Phoenix will host the Clearview Clippers at 5 p.m. Thursday.
