The Lady Phoenix defeated the Brooklyn Hurricanes in straight sets to win their first Patriot Athletic Conference win since 2010.

A Phoenix volleyball win Thursday was their first in five years of Patriot Athletic Conference action.

Oberlin took down the Brooklyn Hurricanes in three tough straight sets.

The girls battled their way through the first set to take it 27-25 and dominated the second to secure a 25-14 win.

Senior Anna Cameron and freshman Cortny Robinson stepped up for their team combining for 19 digs, two aces, and four blocks.

Brooklyn tried to take the third set from Oberlin but the girls worked together and took the set 25-20.

The Lady Phoenix combined for six aces and 21 kills on the night. Oberlin’s Aszure Chamberlin led the team with 10 kills and 19 digs and Abi Tackett had 15 setting assists against Brooklyn.

The girls earned their fourth win of the season and will host the Clearview Clippers at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for their Senior Night game.
